Current position

Professor in Radiology, LUMC Leiden.

Expertise

My expertise centers around the development and application of new MRI technology to measure cerebral perfusion and microvascular properties. During his PhD he optimized arterial input function measurements for contrast agent perfusion MRI, afterwards he changed focus to arterial spin labeling MRI to measure perfusion non-invasively. Recent new developments include the use of time-encoded and acceleration selective ASL as well as hypercapnic reactivity measurements to probe microvascular health and disease.

Role in CAVIA project

Co-project leader, steering commitee commission member, work package leader of workpackage 2, functional neuroimaging biomarkers. Supervision to the LUMC post-doc involved in optimization and application of functional MRI to detect CAA.

Huidige functie

Professor in Radiologie, LUMC Leiden.

Expertise

Rol in CAVIA project
